Perhaps the most common question we get from clients, when discussing a website, is "What will my ranking in Google be?". Well that is a very tough question to be sure, a good question, but not one that we can really answer with any degree of exactness.
The reason we have such a hard time answering the question correctly is that we are adverse to lying to clients. We really can not give a definitive answer. Honestly, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not rocket science, but it does require patience, hard work on our part as well as the client and a bit of good fortune.
You can break down basic Search Engine Optimization into three general steps:
-
Key Word Phrases, which words or phrases are relevant to what you are trying to accomplish with your site.
-
Optimize the page to include the Key Word content you have decided upon and make sure the page is readable by humans and search engines alike.
-
Get other websites to link to your site, not by using a link farm, but by getting other sites that are related to yours to link up with you.
